I am Grahame R Harwood, financial coach and director of HCM (Northern) Limited. The approach I take to providing advice is centred on adding value to each and every situation, irrespective of whether any business is actually transacted.
As a financial coach I facilitate the achievement of maximum value for money and solve finance related problems (situations).
I have accumulated over 23 years experience within the financial services industry and decided many years ago that so called financial advice was a merely a myth. The vast majority of so called financial advisers are still commission hungry salespeople, irrespective of recent changes in financial legislation.
During my time in financial services I have been required to obtain certain qualifications. These include the Financial Planning Certificate awarded by the Chartered Insurance Institute together with the Certificate of Mortgage Advice and Practice awarded by the Chartered Institute of Bankers. The qualification I deem most valuable to my clients is my certification as a Professional Coach.
A fair proportion of my time is spent advising people about mortgages. A mortgage is for most people their largest ever financial transaction. Unfortunately truly impartial and independent advice on this subject is hard to come by. I provide 'pure' financial advice, coaching and mentoring on a consultancy basis. Significant financial savings can often be gained even after factoring in the cost of my advice.
Many people are still unaware that an increasing number of highly competitive lenders will only deal with applicants on a direct basis (not via mortgage brokers or financial advisers).
